Account Managment

What is a chat account?
A Smart Language Solutions chat account is for our clients who want to improve their second language skills.
When you sign up for a Smart Language Solutions chat account you agree to exchange your first language, with other site users of your choice, for the second language you want to practice.
Chat account holders can use the Smart Language Solution website and servers for chatting, texting or posting on user pages.
Smart Language Solutions chat accounts are only viewable to other Smart Language Solutions chat account users.
Chat account holders are not allowed to offer their services as a paid or free language tutor.
If we notice chat account users offering either paid or free tutoring services, we reserve the right to delete the account.

What is a tutor account?
A Smart Language Solutions tutor account is an account for professional language tutors, who want to offer their services for online language lessons.
Smart Language Solutions tutor accounts only show the tutor profiles not contact details.
Language learners who wish to have the contact details of a tutor will have to pay a fee to Smart Language Solutions for the introduction.
Smart Language Solutions tutor account holders are not allowed to use the Smart Languauge Solutions website or servers to chat, text, or teach their clients.
Any teaching between Smart Language Solutions tutor account holders and clients must take place using other chat apps.

How do I create a chat account?
The process of creating a Smart Language Solutions chat account is very easy.
Go to our sign up page and simply enter the required details, HOWEVER remember to click on Chat account.
Once you have completed the sign up process you will receive an email allowing you to activate your account.

How do I create a tutor account?
The process of creating a Smart Language Solutions tutor account is very easy.
Go to our sign up page and simply enter the required details, HOWEVER remember to click on Tutor account.
Once you have completed the sign up process you will receive an email from us setting out the steps needed to become listed as tutor on the Smart Language Solutions database.

Why do you ask those questions on the sign up page?
Here at Smart Language Solutions your privacy is of paramount importance to us.
In an attempt to ensure that “bots” or “spammers” don’t sign up for our service we ask these questions.
We also want to try and keep the site age and gender appropriate for all users, and asking these questions is how we attempt to prove that are users are genuine people and are contactable by us in the event of complaints.

How do I change my user name?
We are sorry you can’t do that.
You can delete your account and create a new one.

How do I change the email connected to my account?
Please send us an email and we will start the process of verifying you, when we have done this we will change your email address for you.

Chat Issues

How to I stop getting unwanted chat request?
Chat requests are the way you can find other chat users to talk with.
However if you are happy with your current chat partners, in your profile settings change your profile from public to private.
This means people will not be able to see you when they search for chat partners.

Another chat user was abusive to me, what can I do?
We take abuse very seriously.
If you feel you have been abused, bullied, taken advantage of then note the name of the person who abused you, and send us an email click here, telling us what happened, and we will start an investigation.
Just as we take abuse very seriously we also take false allegations of abuse just as seriously.

A chat user offered to teach me, what must I do?
This is a clear violation of our terms and conditions. Click here to send us an email with the username of the person who offered to teach you and we will follow up on this issue.

I accidently gave my contact details to a user, what can I do?
We always advise chat users never to share any personal details.
Send us an email and tell us the username of the person you shared your details with.
If that person harries you outside of the Smart Language Solutions website you must inform the relevant local authorities who in turn can contact us with using the appropriate legal steps that will oblige us to release the details of the person who maybe harassing you.
